Inventing New Lifestyle with dissop

In our entrepreneurship course, we, a group of like-minded students from the same department, embarked on a mandatory journey to create a business that would run throughout our academic tenure. Together, we founded Dissop, an innovative cleanliness business specializing in dissolvable soap tablets. Dissop is not just any soap; it represents a leap towards environmental sustainability and convenience, with two distinct product lines: hand soap and multi-surface soap. Our hand soap comes in two enticing scents, Fruit Punch and Vanilla Coconut, while our multi-surface product fills the air with the refreshing aroma of Sea Salt.

The concept of Dissop sprang from a brainstorming session where we identified the potential for compact, tablet-formed soap products. Given Indonesia's ongoing battle with plastic waste—much of it from refill packs of cleaning products—we saw a significant opportunity. Dissop stands out with its minimal packaging, using environmentally friendly materials to set a new standard in the soap industry.

As a novel product in the Indonesian market, our greatest challenge was introducing and educating the public about Dissop. Many are still attached to conventional products and are not fully aware of the concepts of sustainability and environmental friendliness. However, this hurdle did not deter us. To tackle this, we devised a marketing strategy aimed at educating the Indonesian populace about Dissop's benefits. Additionally, we diversified our revenue streams to reach a broader customer base.

Our efforts bore fruit, as evidenced by promising sales at launch and an uptick in social media traffic thanks to our targeted marketing strategies. While these initial successes have yet to make a significant impact, they have met our expectations and we are optimistic about the future.

This startup journey has been incredibly educational, teaching us valuable lessons in market penetration, especially in a landscape dominated by conventional products. It has shown us that dedication, perseverance, and a growth mindset are crucial for navigating the early stages of a business.
